<research & technology projects>

Below are demonstration videos for various composition algorithms, programs and interactive music systems I've written through the years as well as research projects associated with them. For examples of the music made with these systems, visit the Music  section. Downloads are available from vjmanzo.org. You may also read research publications here.

EAMIR
Electro-acoustic Musically Interactive Room (2007 - present)

Description: EAMIR is an open-source music technology project involving alternate controllers, sensors, and adaptive instruments to facilitate music composition, performance, and instruction through a collection of interactive music systems. The EAMIR software apps have been implemented in classrooms, including special needs and disabilities populations, research projects, and composition/performance environments.

Interactive Music Systems
systems for composition and performance

Description: a collection of interactive music systems for composition and performance created by V.J. Manzo. A common theme of these systems is to allow individuals to compose and perform even if they have no prior skills in music. Descriptions for each system are given below. Systems can be downloaded from vjmanzo.org>

Modal Object Library
A collection of programming objects to control and define modality (2006 - present)

The Modal Object Library is a collection of algorithms to control and define modality. The first objects were written for the language Max/MSP in 2006 and became the basis of many of my algorithmic compositions and interactive music systems including the EAMIR project. I have since expanded the library and ported some objects to other languages including LISP and Pure Data. The library is available for download and is also bundled with the V Objects as part of the EAMIR Software Development Kit (SDK). website>
